Pulmonary Care Specialist Role Summary

As a Pulmonary Care Specialist in our team, you will play a vital role in leading and facilitating the development of systems to identify and treat lung nodule patient populations. This position works closely with the Director of Pulmonology, Clinic Manager, Pulmonary Specialists, and Cardiothoracic Surgeons to develop care models that monitor patient progress and promote early intervention.

We are seeking an experienced nursing professional with a strong background in critical care settings or related specialties. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of nursing experience and possess excellent reading, writing, and editing skills in English. Familiarity with Epic and ability to effectively evaluate medical records is also required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, be self-directed, and possess excellent telephone and communication skills. Ability to articulate information or data to multiple audiences with varying levels of knowledge and expertise is essential. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement systems to monitor patient progress and promote early intervention
  • Work closely with healthcare teams to optimize interventions and manage community outreach
  • Manage utilization and practice metrics to refine care delivery models
  • Ensure programs adhere to the mission and vision of Christus Health

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN, BSN, or MSN degree
  • Hold a valid NM RN license
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS within 6 months

Estimated Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
