Position Overview:
FarrWest Specialty Vehicles (FSV) is a leading installer and custom outfitter for emergency response vehicles such as police cars, fire trucks, and other critical service vehicles. We are seeking skilled installation technicians with experience in 12-volt automotive, RV, or marine electrical systems to install and maintain specialized equipment, including LED warning lights, communication systems, and secure transport enclosures.

We have openings for Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians, as well as Apprentice positions, depending on your qualifications and background.

Additionally, we construct off-road emergency vehicles from the ground up, incorporating advanced suspension systems, custom accessories, welding, powder coating, and window tinting.

Work Environment:
Our vehicle builds typically span 3-6 months, ensuring a steady workflow with numerous opportunities for bonuses.

Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with automotive, marine, or RV 12-volt electrical systems and installations.
  • Possession of personal tools (basic hand tools, air tools, and electric tools) for installation tasks.
  • Reliability and punctuality in work attendance.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to work in a shop environment for extended periods, managing varying temperatures, noise from tools, and moving machinery.
  • Physical ability to lift, squat, kneel, stoop, bend, lay down, twist, climb, stand, and sit for prolonged durations.
  • Competence in assembling both small and large components, including partitions, bumpers, and wiring.
  • Good vision and color perception.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and follow work priorities to achieve production targets as directed by supervisors.
  • Utilize various pneumatic tools, shop equipment, and power tools effectively.
  • Diagnose wiring issues using wiring diagrams.
  • Carefully remove and reinstall OEM vehicle interior components without causing damage.
  • Disassemble and reassemble a wide range of vehicle makes and models, including sedans, SUVs, trucks, motorcycles, and ATVs.
  • Install various aftermarket parts on vehicles, such as bumpers, grille guards, and lift kits.

Preferred Skills:
  • Fabrication abilities, including metal bracket design, bending, cutting, and welding (MIG/TIG; Steel/Aluminum) are advantageous.
  • Experience in window tinting or vehicle wrap installation is highly desirable.
