Project/Construction Management Intern

Bo-Mac Contractors, Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project/Construction Management Intern to join our team in the New Orleans, LA area. As a Project/Construction Management Intern, you will assist the project team in establishing project schedules and work tasks, support the planning and estimating stage of projects, and coordinate with suppliers/vendors and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing project schedules and work tasks, ensuring efficient and safe project execution.
  • Support the planning and estimating stage of projects, incorporating the most efficient and economical form systems into project design.
  • Assist in preparing accurate formwork layout drawings and erection instructions for field crews.
  • Coordinate with suppliers/vendors and subcontractors during the estimating phase.
  • Learn and understand document control procedures, including ordering and accepting deliveries, surveys, quantity control, daily reports, safety reports, and production reports.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating material and equipment schedules.
  • Work closely with the project team to monitor safety, cost, and scheduling of construction projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve concerns regarding structural design with the project team.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested to support the organization.
Requirements:
  • In the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and be familiar with take-off drawings; basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or BIM Modeling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, customers, and vendors.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant amounts of information regarding plan layouts, material deliveries, and jobsite productivities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling materials and equipment, as well as supervising jobsite productivity and personnel, is a plus.
