Job Overview

K2 Staffing is proud to partner with a renowned General Contractor in Los Angeles, CA, seeking an experienced Ground Up Commercial Construction Superintendent for automobile dealership development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day field activities to ensure project milestones and completion dates are met.
  • Create short-interval look-ahead project schedules to communicate, track, and proactively address upcoming events.
  • Develop and maintain a culture that values safety, health, and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with all contract terms and legal requirements.
  • Establish and maintain dimensional controls, utilizing third-party survey and layout personnel when necessary.
  • Verify work quality, ensuring it meets established standards.
  • Obtain inspections and document physical work quality.
  • Administer client-specific programs and ensure all aspects of the project are compliant.
  • Conduct pre-construction, progress, and project meetings.
  • Manage self-performed activities within the project budget.
  • Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and agreements.
  • Maintain daily paperwork, including timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and email correspondence.
Requirements
  • Must have previous experience handling tilt-up and ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Must have Tenant Improvement (TI) experience.
  • Experience in automobile dealership builds is a significant advantage.
  • AS degree in Construction Management or similar, or a Journeyman status in a building trade from an accredited organization, with demonstrated experience supervising construction.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with commercial and institutional buildings and site work.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, scheduling, Microsoft Office, and other software used in the construction industry.
