Overview:
OPS Consulting is looking for a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team in Maryland. This role involves significant contributions to the design and implementation of control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate in defining requirements and guiding the design of control systems.
2. Assess the feasibility and practicality of proposed systems and provide insightful evaluations.
3. Facilitate technical communication and coordination among project teams and management.
4. Engage with a team to analyze conditions, suggest modifications, and develop design improvements.

Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in process/controls, electrical, mechanical, nuclear, chemical, or computer engineering.
- Proven experience with mid to large-scale control system implementations or equivalent training system simulators in industries such as chemical processing, power generation, wastewater management, or facility mechanical operations.

Required Skills:
- Expertise in designing and implementing systems utilizing programmable logic controllers, microprocessors, SCADA, and DCS systems.
- Proficient in modeling physical systems including mechanical, electrical, fluid, or chemical systems, with a solid understanding of control system theory.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and technical writing capabilities.

Desired Skills:
- Experience in integrating multiple control systems into hierarchical control frameworks.
- Skills in validating and optimizing control system performance through simulations.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex systems.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
