KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customs Documentation Expertise:
    • Prepare and manage the necessary customs paperwork for international shipments.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required documents to customs entities.
    • Stay informed about evolving customs regulations across various jurisdictions.
  • International Shipping Fundamentals:
    • Oversee and track international shipments from origin to destination.
    • Comply with international shipping laws and best practices.
    • Engage with freight forwarders and carriers to facilitate smooth shipping operations.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Maintain clear communication with clients regarding shipping timelines, costs, and customs requirements.
    • Address any shipping-related issues or delays promptly and professionally.
    • Build and nurture strong client relationships through regular updates and interactions.
  • International Shipping Forms:
    • Prepare and process essential international shipping documents, including bills of lading and commercial invoices.
    • Ensure compliance with international standards in all documentation.
  • Customs Clearance Facilitation:
    • Assist in the customs clearance process by coordinating with customs brokers and authorities.
    • Ensure compliance with customs regulations for timely shipment clearance.
  • In-Depth Customs Knowledge:
    • Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and procedures worldwide.
    • Provide expert advice on customs matters to clients and internal teams.
  • Tariff Classification:
    • Apply appropriate tariff classifications for goods shipped internationally.
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of tariff schedules and their implications.
  • Knowledge of Shipping Locations:
    • Stay informed about international shipping locations and ports.
    • Coordinate with personnel at shipping sites to ensure timely receipt and dispatch of goods.
  • Regulatory Compliance for Restricted Goods:
    • Understand and adhere to regulations governing the shipment of restricted items.
    • Collaborate with relevant authorities to ensure proper handling of restricted goods.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in international shipping or customs operations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant shipping software.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
