Job Summary:The Behavior Specialist will work under the guidance of a BCBA supervisor to provide behavioral support services across various settings, including day habilitation, residential, in-home, supported employment, and community-based settings. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer Skill Acquisition assessments, including VB MAPP, FISH, Essential for Living, and Preference Assessments.
- Conduct Functional Assessments of challenging behaviors, including Functional Behavior Assessments and Functional Analysis.
- Develop supported employment programming as needed.
- Design, implement, and train stakeholders in data collection methods, skill acquisition programming, behavior support plans, and behavior strategies.
- Assist in conducting intake assessments for prospective clients.
- Review and modify behavior support plans according to data.
- Complete all reports and assessments within a timely manner and meet ongoing deadlines.
- Facilitate Natural Environment Training when appropriate.
- Directly observe programs implemented by RBTs, Direct Support Staff, etc.
- Review support staff's documentation and data collection, providing feedback as needed.
- Complete consultation notes and record/upload into individual files.
- Complete behavior support service logs for billing.
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to exchange, discuss, and evaluate individual information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs and services.
- Provide scheduled consultations face-to-face or via tele-health with individuals and support staff, reviewing data and updating program models as necessary.
- Lead behavior support staff meetings, in-services, professional development workshops, and trainings as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Registered Behavior Technician Certification (considering candidates currently completing certification requirements).
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field.
- Working towards or currently possessing a certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Completed 2 semesters of graduate-level coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification and re-certification every 2 years.
- Pass a criminal history, central registry background check, and Department of Education Background Check.
- Exhibit superior time management and organizational skills, meeting deadlines and thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Direct Support Professional or Registered Behavior Technician.
