Job Summary:

\

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our rehabilitation services, you will play a crucial role in helping our patients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Provide direct patient care as assigned, delivering occupational therapy services according to program requirements\
  • Screen patients for occupational therapy services, evaluating their appropriateness, types of services, and rehabilitation potential\
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy treatment plans using judgment to modify treatment as needed due to changing medical conditions\
  • Evaluate patients with complex disabilities to determine their level of function using standardized and non-standardized tests\
  • Assist the multidisciplinary medical team in coordination of patient treatment and discharge planning\
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive services\

Requirements:

  • \
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy and two years of experience as an occupational therapist\
  • Mastery of occupational therapy principles and techniques consistent with current clinical standards based on OT theory and evidence-based practice\
  • Ability to administer, interpret evaluation findings, and develop intervention plans\
  • Skill in monitoring patient response to interventions and modifying treatment plans as needed\
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals\
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations to minimize risk in patient care and the environment\
