About the Role

City of Hope is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operative procedures, ensuring that necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment are readily available.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in sterile technique.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and hospital personnel, while ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
  • Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and best practices.
  • Assist with the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Requirements
  • Post-high school vocational/specialized training as a Surgical Technologist (experience may substitute for minimum education requirements).
  • 0-3 years' experience scrubbing major and/or endoscopic cases in a hospital setting.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Surgical/Endoscopic Technologist Certification (preferred).
