Position Summary

We're seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist II to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for assisting surgeons during operative procedures, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Your duties will include preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons during operative procedures, ensuring that necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment are available and ready for use.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in sterile technique.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, and other hospital personnel, while ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
  • Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings to maintain and enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with our team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes and promote a culture of excellence and safety.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Post-high school vocational or specialized training in surgical technology.
  • At least 3 years of experience scrubbing major and/or endoscopic cases in a hospital setting.
  • Current CST (Surgical/Endoscopic Technologist Certification) or participation in a UBC/Work Group and provision of 1 in-service per year.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association.
