We are looking for a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to take on a travel assignment. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive treatment and diagnostic respiratory services to patients and their families across various clinical settings, including intensive care units, emergency departments, general care areas, perioperative settings, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct clinical assessments and make informed clinical decisions while adjusting care based on established protocols.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Serve as a resource for physicians and healthcare professionals, ensuring that orders align with institutional policies and procedures.
- May assume the role of Charge Therapist, overseeing adequate staffing levels in respiratory care.
- Facility Requirement: Must maintain a permanent residence outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.
- Experience: A minimum of two years of experience as a staff therapist is required.
- Experience: Preferred experience in both pediatric and adult care.
- Experience: Must have worked in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center or a hospital of similar size.
- Experience: Previous travel experience is highly preferred.
- Licensure and Certification: Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Wisconsin.
- Licensure and Certification: CRT and RRT credentials are required.
- Licensure and Certification: BLS certification must be through the American Heart Association only.
- Education: Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited program.
- References: Two completed references from recent supervisors or managers are required.
- Travelers may be assigned to float to various floors, including those working with children up to one year of age, based on their competencies.
- Shifts may be scheduled across multiple units depending on current staffing needs.
- If the primary unit no longer requires assistance, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract completion.
