Job Overview

MT and UT Level II Certification Required

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for testing, inspecting, and approving products and samples throughout various stages of the manufacturing process. This role involves compiling and analyzing statistical data to ensure the quality and reliability of products, while also assisting in the training of new team members as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and schematic diagrams, collaborating with management or engineering teams to establish quality and reliability standards.
  • Select products for testing at designated stages in the production process, assessing various qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
  • Document test results in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports to confirm compliance or highlight deviations from established standards.
  • Conduct both destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, components, or products to evaluate performance, longevity, or material properties.
  • Input data into computer systems for thorough analysis.
  • Monitor in-process operations to ensure adherence to customer specifications for manufacturing.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished products to verify compliance with customer requirements.
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment to meet legal and manufacturing standards as required.
  • Coordinate the calibration of production equipment, quality assurance tests, and nondestructive testing equipment as necessary.
  • Assist in the training of new personnel in quality assurance processes.
  • Execute additional tasks as directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. MT and UT Level II Certifications are mandatory.
  2. Ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  3. Capable of reading and understanding simple instructions, brief correspondence, and memos.
  4. Able to write basic correspondence.
  5. Proficient in presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  6. Competent in solving basic arithmetic problems and using a calculator accurately.
  7. Ability to perform operations using units of American currency and measurements.
  8. Common sense understanding to follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
  9. Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  10. Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Familiarity with welding processes and experience as a welder.
Essential Physical Functions
  • Regularly required to use hands for handling and talking or hearing.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and perform actions such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
