Position Summary
The Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist provides essential support to the energy production facility. This role is critical in maintaining the operational efficiency of a combined cycle power generation plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as DCS, meters, and event loggers to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges.
- Inspect, repair, install, and remove various electrical components including transmitters, motors, generators, and control systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting and analysis on distributed control systems and turbine control equipment.
- Calibrate instrumentation and ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Support compliance programs, including necessary training and documentation.
- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for all equipment.
- Manage inventory and procurement of spare parts to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Assist in managing contractor activities during maintenance outages.
- Participate in the upkeep of operational manuals, technical references, and maintenance records.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with electrical systems operating up to 4,160 volts is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with distributed control systems, particularly Mark VI and Emerson Ovation.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to devise innovative solutions to complex electrical and instrumentation challenges.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Skilled in using both hand and power tools effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong computer skills for documentation and reporting.
- Knowledge of electrical safety protocols and instrumentation standards.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and power generation systems.
Educational Background
- Completion of an accredited Instrument Technician Program or an Associate's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting hourly rate of $44.00.
- Eligibility for an annual performance-based cash bonus.
- Employer contributions to retirement plans.
