Job Overview

Position Summary
The Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist provides essential support to the energy production facility. This role is critical in maintaining the operational efficiency of a combined cycle power generation plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as DCS, meters, and event loggers to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges.
  • Inspect, repair, install, and remove various electrical components including transmitters, motors, generators, and control systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and analysis on distributed control systems and turbine control equipment.
  • Calibrate instrumentation and ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Support compliance programs, including necessary training and documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for all equipment.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of spare parts to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Assist in managing contractor activities during maintenance outages.
  • Participate in the upkeep of operational manuals, technical references, and maintenance records.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience with electrical systems operating up to 4,160 volts is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with distributed control systems, particularly Mark VI and Emerson Ovation.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to devise innovative solutions to complex electrical and instrumentation challenges.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Skilled in using both hand and power tools effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong computer skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety protocols and instrumentation standards.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and power generation systems.

Educational Background

  • Completion of an accredited Instrument Technician Program or an Associate's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting hourly rate of $44.00.
  • Eligibility for an annual performance-based cash bonus.
  • Employer contributions to retirement plans.
