Senior Manager, State and Local Tax

KPMG is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. As a key member of our team, you will work with multi-state companies on state and local income tax compliance, providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues.
Responsibilities:- Lead multi-state tax compliance projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide subject matter expertise and industry knowledge.
- Review and analyze state income and franchise tax estimated payments, identifying areas for improvement.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, supervising and mentoring staff to ensure their growth and development.
- Monitor risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and project budgets.
- Contribute to the growth of the KPMG tax practice by identifying new marketplace opportunities and collaborating with other professionals.
- Minimum eight years of experience in state income tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, or pass-through entities, with a strong understanding of multi-state tax issues.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field, with a licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA, or MTX designation.
- Proven experience providing services to public companies and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts.
- Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax compliance skills.
- Ability to foster relationships both internally and with clients, with a desire to perform in a high-energy team environment.
