Role Overview:
The Casualty Specialist Adjuster is accountable for managing and resolving assigned claims efficiently and fairly, adhering to policy guidelines and legal standards. This role involves handling claims that may require thorough investigations and assessments of complex coverage issues, particularly those involving significant injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate each claim upon receipt to determine coverage and exposure, establishing appropriate reserves.
  • Communicate with insured parties and claimants to notify them of claim assignments and initiate the settlement process.
  • Address coverage inquiries with appropriate documentation, advising relevant departments of any adverse findings.
  • Conduct independent investigations to ascertain liability swiftly and effectively.
  • Maintain necessary licenses and fulfill continuing education requirements as mandated by state regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Internal Candidates: Minimum of 3 years in property casualty claims adjusting, including 6 months in bodily injury claims.
  • External Candidates: At least 4 years of experience in auto claims adjusting, with a focus on complex bodily injury evaluations and settlements.
  • Proficient understanding of insurance laws and regulations, along with expertise in claim handling processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicts effectively and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • Capacity to adapt to fluctuating workloads and meet deadlines amidst interruptions.
  • Decisive and independent, with the ability to make informed decisions that impact both the company and claimants.
