We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and procedures, maintaining equipment and records, and ensuring quality control and assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical laboratory procedures, examinations, and tests pursuant to established protocols.
- Maintain equipment and records, and perform quality assurance activities.
- Set up and perform routine and complex laboratory tests and procedures.
- Prepare and test specimens for examination and report results.
- Follow established in-process quality control procedures, including recording data.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot basic instrumentation, culture media, chemicals, reagents, stains, solutions, and technical problems.
- Maintain sufficient supplies at workstations.
- Ensure and maintain quality control and assurance activities.
- Use Infection Control practices and procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science, or related field, preferred.
- Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, required.
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience and/or training specific to the work being done in the area noted above, required.
The salary range for this position is $53-$53/hour.
