The Controller will lead, manage and oversee all financial reporting and accounting functions for the Prominence Health Plan companies from a GAAP and SSAP perspective. This role is responsible for:
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and management of the Accounting team
- Accurate and timely financial reporting
- Overseeing financial regulatory filings (NAIC and CMS)
- Leading and coordinating successful external audits
- Developing and managing adequate financial controls and policies
- Actively performing balance sheet and SOX reviews for all lines of business
- Compiling and communicating executive summaries and key financial metrics
- Participating in the development of the company's strategic plans
- Coordinating projections with corporate Treasury on required RBC levels
This executive will also provide oversight and support of month-end close activities, budget development, accounts payable functions, administrative cost review, state regulatory requests, and administration of the annual reinsurance program.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
- GAAP knowledge, CPA required; experience in public accounting preferred.
- 5+ years of financial accounting experience. Must have experience in the health insurance industry. Experience with Medicare Advantage is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in a progressively advanced accounting roles preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Regulatory and U.S. GAAP requirements.
