Controller

The Controller will lead the financial reporting and accounting functions for Prominence Health Plan companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for managing the Accounting team, overseeing financial regulatory filings, and leading external audits.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Oversee financial regulatory filings, including NAIC and CMS
- Lead and coordinate successful external audits
- Develop and manage adequate financial controls and policies
- Perform balance sheet and SOX reviews for all lines of business
- Compile and communicate executive summaries and key financial metrics
- Participate in the development of the company's strategic plans
- Coordinate projections with corporate Treasury on required RBC levels
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
- GAAP knowledge, CPA required; experience in public accounting preferred
- 5+ years of financial accounting experience; must have experience in the health insurance industry
- 10+ years of experience in a progressively advanced accounting role preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. Regulatory and U.S. GAAP requirements
- Self-starter with a passion for delivering high-quality service and exceeding stakeholder expectations
- Ability to lead, coach, develop, and promote talent
- Quick learner with superior problem-solving skills and a focus on generating efficiencies and continuous process improvements
