Senior Project Process Engineer

AbbVie Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA is seeking a talented Senior Project Process Engineer to join our Project Engineering group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage capital projects through the entire project life-cycle, including scope management, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating activities interdepartmentally and with contractors.
  • Develop project scope based on customer requirements, estimate costs, request capital expenditures, and prepare financial defense packages.
  • Conduct design reviews, including specifications, procurement, fabrication management, and installation of equipment, facilities, and utilities related to biologics bulk drug substance production.
  • Develop user requirements, biologics equipment P&IDs, and technical/functional specifications to support automation programming and processes.
  • Perform engineering calculations to size process lines, equipment, and instrumentation, and manage procurement and fabrication.
  • Identify project resource needs internally and externally, and assist in the procurement process.
  • Oversee mechanical design of vendor-fabricated equipment, review and approve vendor submittals, and prepare/execute factory and site acceptance testing protocols.
  • Manage biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical validation activities to ensure equipment, facilities, and utilities are installed, operate within design parameters, and produce the intended product or environment.
  • Prepare and deliver periodic project status reports to internal project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods is required.
