Job Summary

As a Police Patrol Officer with the City of Brenham, TX, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, responding to emergency calls, and engaging with the community to build trust and prevent crime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol designated areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce traffic laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls, including accidents, disturbances, and other incidents that require police intervention.
  • Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses to solve cases.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, providing information and assistance as needed.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to address public safety concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic TCOLE certification within 30 days of graduation from the Police Academy.
  • A valid Texas driver's license.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a variety of settings, including patrol vehicles, emergency situations, and community events. You will be expected to work irregular schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to be available for overtime as needed.
