The Patient Financial Advocate will serve as a liaison between patients, hospitals, and government agencies to connect uninsured individuals with medical assistance programs.
Key Responsibilities- Screen patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical assistance programs
- Complete and submit applications for medical assistance
- Document patient interactions and case outcomes in company and hospital systems
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients
- Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, and social workers to ensure seamless patient care
- Communicate with patients and government agencies to resolve enrollment and renewal issues
- Assist patients with gathering necessary documentation and arranging transportation as needed
- Inform patients of approval or denial of medical assistance in a timely manner
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior hospital experience preferred
- Adaptability and critical thinking skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Valid driver's license
