We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) on weekends. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients from the operating room to the recovery area.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate nursing care of surgical patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Comply with unit, state, federal, and JCAHO standards.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on post-operative care and recovery.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program.
- Current and valid North Carolina Registered Nurse license with biannual renewal.
- Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire date.
- ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire and maintained.
- Previous PACU and/or ICU experience required.
- Knowledge of principles of asepsis.
- Thorough knowledge of patient assessment techniques, treatment techniques, and the operation and maintenance of all unit-specific equipment.
- Ability to respond to changing workloads and perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations.
- Even temperament, tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude.
- Ability to work effectively with others and maintain knowledge of current trends.
