Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze customer networks to identify solutions and plan integration/conversion requirements.
  • Implement upgrades to customer networks without impacting services provided to end-users.
  • Create and own Engineering Method of Procedures (EMOP) for modernization projects.
  • Plan, develop, and execute customer modernization plans via the EMOP process.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are technically viable, meet customer requirements, and provide maximum benefit to Ciena.

Requirements
  • Technical degree in Engineering or Computer Science or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Ciena products, particularly 6500, RLS, and Waveserver.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent presentation and customer service skills.
  • Strong working technical expertise in optical networking with extensive hands-on experience.
  • Excellent systems-level understanding and ability to learn and apply new concepts and technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work within a high-performance team.
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Expert in problem-solving down to the design level and translating that back to Engineering for resolution.
