Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist to join our team at DeKalb County. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and revising maps, providing analysis and research support, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update maps to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Analyze map data to identify parcels, determine acreage, and assist with auditing and reconciling deed books
  • Provide customer service, process forms, and conduct research to answer customer questions
  • Design and create custom maps, conduct research projects, and work with historical data and legal documents
  • Perform data manipulation and integration in an ArcSDE/Oracle database environment
  • Consult with GIS users, coordinate with outside agencies, and read and interpret surveys, legal descriptions, and cartography
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; two years of experience in mapping, CAD software, or related field
  • Valid Georgia driver's license required
