Senior Electrical Engineer

Join Second Order Effects, Inc. as a Senior Electrical Engineer and contribute to the design, architecture, and implementation of complex electrical systems for customers in various industries.
About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and support multidisciplinary project teams in the development of innovative electrical solutions. As a key member of our Electrical Engineering functional team, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing electronic systems and circuitry for customers in aerospace, renewable energy, robotics, and medical devices
- Developing and maintaining infrastructure to improve the efficiency of the EE functional team and their projects
- Mentoring and guiding the EE team to mature their core competencies and skill sets
- Decomposing complex electrical systems into discrete bodies of work for other engineers on the team
- Partnering with customers to lead the requirements generation process for electrical systems
- Performing component selection and trade studies to best generate and satisfy design requirements
- Capturing schematics and design PCB layouts, creating component symbols and footprints
- Conducting design reviews with internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting Business Development efforts, including generating and reviewing estimates for project efforts
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing custom electronic systems
- 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams through hardware design projects from inception to completion
- Expertise in end-to-end electronics design from requirements generation through schematic, layout, fabrication, and hardware bring-up
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal engineering teams and external suppliers and customers
