Job Summary

As a Lead Server at Gulph Creek Hotels, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to our guests. This role requires a strong understanding of restaurant operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and take food and drink orders from guests, serving the orders and accommodating special needs/requests.
Remain attentive to guests' needs throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards established by the restaurant.
Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work.
Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily features to answer questions and make recommendations to guests.
Maintain cleanliness standards in the restaurant, side stations, and kitchen service area to ensure a clean, presentable, and attractive facility.
Control allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures and legibly documenting all required information as the guests' order is taken and processed.
Receive proper payment from guests and ensure accuracy of guest check and method of payment to safeguard guest and company.
Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings in person to enhance communications and gain knowledge of products, service, and facility.
Respond to guest inquiries and comments in person and on phone by providing timely and knowledgeable information to provide A+ guest service.

Requirements

Previous server experience in a comparable restaurant is required.
Must have extensive knowledge of guest service principles, the food server function, and restaurant and kitchen operations.
Must know standard cash-handling procedures.
Must be fluent in oral and written English.
Must have ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, follow verbal and written instruction, and communicate both verbally and in writing.
Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations, particularly when handling multiple tasks.
Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.

Working Conditions

The Lead Server will work in a physically strenuous environment, with prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and carrying throughout the entire shift in an indoor environment.
