Job Summary

The Director of Parish Engagement will work closely with the Pastor, Parochial Vicar, and staff to foster a sense of community and engagement within the parish. This role will involve developing and implementing strategies to promote involvement and participation in parish events, as well as building relationships with surrounding communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community outreach programs to engage with local residents and promote parish activities
  • Collaborate with parish staff and ministries to plan and execute events that foster a sense of community and belonging
  • Build relationships with local community leaders and organizations to promote mutual understanding and cooperation
  • Develop and maintain a database of community contacts and relationships
  • Assist with the development and implementation of parish policies and procedures related to community engagement
Requirements
  • Personal qualities that exhibit a prayerful spirit, personal and spiritual maturity, initiative, and adaptability
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a diverse complement of individuals and groups
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the parish and surrounding communities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Proficient use of computers and technology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in community outreach or parish ministry
  • Knowledge of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and its mission
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
