Position Overview:
Deliver exceptional patient care within the medical imaging department. Execute high-quality imaging procedures while being attuned to patient needs. Adhere to established radiation safety standards. Exhibit leadership qualities and serve as a role model for fellow technologists. Act as a clinical resource for students, staff technologists, and other healthcare personnel. Ensure compliance with current practice standards within the unit.
Your Contributions to the Team:
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, providing clear information and support to address their physical and emotional needs.
- Monitor patients and equipment during procedures, documenting any unusual occurrences and recording patient conditions.
- Facilitate efficient patient flow, scheduling, and optimal utilization of resources and equipment.
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with physicians, imaging staff, students, and hospital personnel to ensure continuity of care.
- Be available for on-call duties outside of standard hours as per departmental and facility policies.
- Maintain the operational integrity of imaging equipment, reporting issues and logging service requests as per departmental protocols.
- Engage in clinical training, providing guidance and support to students and staff technologists, and fostering the development of clinical skills while adhering to hospital policies.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Registered Technologist in Radiology - R.T. (R) (ARRT); Bone Density certification preferred within six months of hire, if applicable.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (strongly preferred)
- Bachelor's degree
