Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nursing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring and delivering exceptional, patient-centered care while coordinating all functions within the unit/department during their designated shift.

Working alongside other management team members, the Nursing Coordinator directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to foster an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.


Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.

- Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other management team members.

- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to cultivate a teamwork environment that promotes improved outcomes and service.

- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.

- Support facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.

- Provide recommendations regarding the interviewing, selection, and training of new staff.

- Recommend and implement actions related to training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitive organization.

- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support effective inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
