Job Responsibilities

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist is responsible for:

  • Conducting specialized radiologic procedures to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.
  • Supporting physicians during invasive radiological interventions.
  • Preparing patients for examinations and ensuring they understand the procedures.
  • Administering contrast materials as necessary and positioning patients for optimal imaging.
  • Ensuring compliance with radiation safety protocols and maintaining high technical quality of images.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient data accurately.
  • Performing quality assurance checks on radiology equipment.
  • Reporting any incidents or equipment issues to management promptly.
  • Participating in emergency call rotations as required.
  • Promoting a culture of safety and adherence to organizational policies and standards.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development and mentoring less experienced staff.
  • Exhibiting a commitment to compassionate care for all community members.

Qualifications

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Basic or Advanced Life Support certification required.
  • Current Texas Medical Board license (MRT) is mandatory.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) is required.
