Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter II to join our team at Higley & Elliot. As a Meat Cutter II, you will be responsible for executing day-to-day operations in our Meat and Seafood departments, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order, cut, grind, slice, weigh, wrap, and label meat products according to quality, quantity, and food safety standards.
  • Control product shrinks and inventory expenses through proper handling, cutting, trimming, and wrapping techniques.
  • Provide customers with excellent product information and sell products effectively.
  • Operate meat department tools and equipment, including knives, saws, wrapping machines, and meat grinders, while meeting safety standards.
  • Understand and apply product pricing, signage, and placement guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly meat counter, work areas, and self-service cases.
  • Assist with the preparation of ready-to-go meat products and slice, weigh, and merchandise prepared deli meats and cheeses.
  • Display goods according to deli department and merchandising guidelines.
  • Take customer orders and ensure timely completion to customer satisfaction.

  • Standing, sitting, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), pushing, keyboarding, telephone use, walking, and bending.
