Position Summary:
The Overnight Facility Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of clients during overnight hours. Under the guidance of the Program Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing residential care staff and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. The supervisor will act as the primary point of contact between staff and other professionals, providing support and guidance to enhance the effectiveness of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a constant presence at the facility during scheduled hours to ensure the safety of clients.
- Facilitate effective communication among Residential Counselors to promote a secure environment.
- Serve as a mediator in crisis situations, offering leadership and support to staff.
- Provide constructive feedback to enhance the performance of Residential Counselors.
- Train and evaluate new staff members to ensure high standards of care.
- Prepare staff schedules to meet required staffing ratios.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Proactively engage with clients to prevent crises and assist in de-escalation when necessary.
- Document incidents and maintain compliance with agency standards.
- Ensure that the living environment meets regulatory expectations and report any safety concerns.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- A BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience in child development or related fields.
- Experience working with youth in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Licenses and Certifications:
Candidates must hold a valid California Driver's License and complete necessary certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention within the specified timeframes.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities as needed to ensure client safety.
