Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Blood Specimen Collector to join our team at the Lakewood Medical Clinic. As a vital member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for collecting blood and other human fluids from patients using proper collection tubes for tests ordered.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and maintain accurate records. Responsibilities:
  • Collects human fluids, blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary from patients using proper collection tubes for tests ordered.
  • Identifies patient with name and DOB, labels tubes and follow proper timing of collection as needed with high attention to detail to ensure patient's address is correct.
  • Verifies for proper tests order in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Maintains appropriate documentation of temperature; preventive maintenance activities; method procedures; quality control; and quality assurance.
  • Follows written policies and procedure for a comprehensive quality assurance program and quality control procedures, providing and assuring accurate and reliable test results and quality reports.

Salary and Benefits

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $20.02, plus benefits that include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent to the US education required.
  • Graduation from an accredited phlebotomy training program required.
  • X-ray training required.
  • A minimum of one year experience in a hospital or clinic setting is desired.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly desirable.
