Job Title: Addiction Recovery Specialist

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

PROMESA R.H.C.F. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Addiction Recovery Specialist to provide alcoholism and substance abuse counseling services in our approved work settings.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals struggling with addiction and be able to provide comprehensive assessment services, including diagnostic assessment, evaluation, intervention, referral, and counseling in both individual and group settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry an active caseload of clients as stipulated by the program
  • Provide 28 hours of direct care services each week
  • Orient clients about program rules and regulations, goals, and objectives, client's obligations, client's rights, and program operations
  • Complete clinical assessments related paperwork upon admission
  • Refer to mental health for assessment upon admission. Assessment is repeated as needed
  • Complete daily progress notes and encounters for billing on time
  • Engage clients in creating recovery treatment plans as evidenced by submitting plans with all signatures. Plans are developed according to OASAS regulations
  • Document all individual, family, groups, and/or crisis interventions counseling, plus any other significant contact in the client's clinical record
  • Document techniques used during individual, family counseling sessions, and group therapy to address behaviors, attitudes, and feelings, and assess their effects
  • Facilitate groups weekly. Documentation is completed on time
  • Provide regular ongoing direct services to clients, their families/significant others, helping them with adjustment problems, need for placement, diagnosis, and implications, substance abuse counseling, etc.
  • Maintain ongoing cooperative relationships with other disciplines to ensure quality service to clients
  • Assist clients in locating housing and applying for permanent housing as needed
  • Maintain and update referral services and resources that may be useful to our population
  • Submit required chart documentation adhering to OASAS regulatory timeframes
  • Participate in clinical supervision as scheduled

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required. Associate/Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Valid OASAS CASAC certification
  • 3+ years' experience in OASAS programs
  • Strong leadership, excellent organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work on a strong team of professionals in a culturally diverse environment
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
