Role Summary
We are seeking a proactive individual to become a vital member of our Loan Accounting team. This position requires both independent work and collaboration within the finance department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Loan Processing (30%)
- Record short and long-term loans and participations in our internal loan management system.
- Confirm the accuracy of information in the loan software against legal documentation prior to entry.
- Implement interest rate adjustments and other loan modifications.
- Manage customer payments and prepare all disbursement requests for review.
- Ensure timely approval of borrower draft transactions before processing.
- Conduct daily reconciliations of disbursement and payment transactions, addressing any discrepancies.
2. Customer Support (25%)
- Provide assistance to customers via phone and in-person, assessing their needs effectively.
- Process loan payments and issue receipts, while also addressing various customer inquiries.
3. Account Reconciliation (25%)
- Reconcile cash and clearing accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.
4. Administrative Tasks (15%)
- Manage document storage and indexing, ensuring all records are accurately maintained.
- Prepare necessary documentation and notarize as required.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping for the Specialist level; 5+ years for the Senior Specialist level.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office setting, where you will engage with both internal teams and external clients. The role requires a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and supporting the mission of Golden State Farm Credit in all interactions.
