Job Overview

Join the committed Sales team at Salvation Army, where we strive to make a difference in our local community. We are seeking a full-time Retail Operations Leader for our Tucson location. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your leadership capabilities while playing a vital role in the success of our Adult Rehabilitation Program.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Organize employee schedules to guarantee adequate staffing at all times.

2. Oversee team members to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.

3. Conduct interviews and manage the hiring process for new team members.

4. Provide comprehensive training for new hires on store protocols and the expected level of customer service.

5. Manage inventory by ordering merchandise and maintaining accurate stock levels.

6. Ensure sufficient cash is available at the start of each day, safeguarding cash in registers and the safe, and handling banking procedures in accordance with company policy.

7. Process paperwork in compliance with Review Standards, particularly regarding Hour and Wage regulations.

8. Attend monthly management meetings and keep staff informed of new policies and directives.

9. Foster positive customer relations by greeting all customers and donors.

10. Ensure safety measures are implemented and maintained in line with company policy and regulatory requirements, reporting any hazards to management.

11. Protect property and maintain the integrity of the building.

12. Strive to meet and exceed store sales goals as established by management.

13. Be open to transferring between locations as directed by management.

14. Implement effective loss prevention strategies.

15. Lead daily team meetings to ensure smooth operations.

16. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one year of experience in retail sales or customer service is essential, with at least one year in a supervisory role preferred. Candidates must be capable of operating POS systems and managing employee schedules. A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are necessary, along with access to a vehicle. A background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry, will be conducted. Strong communication skills are required to interact effectively with management, team members, customers, and donors.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Capability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files, carts, and merchandise. Ability to operate a telephone and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
