About the Role
Doctors Hospital of Laredo is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our licensed pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and distributing medications to patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication inventory and dispensing
- Perform tasks in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 6 months of experience in pharmacy functions
- Certified and registered Pharmacy Technician by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
- IV Certification required (or must be obtained within 12 months from date of hire)
- Continued employment contingent on maintaining current required certification(s) and/or license(s)
