Position Overview:

The Construction Foreman plays a pivotal role in the execution of our ski lift and ropeway projects. This position involves close collaboration with the site superintendent and project management team to oversee daily operations, ensuring that construction tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily safety briefings to uphold safety standards and compliance.
  • Prepare and organize labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors ahead of schedule.
  • Establish and communicate daily production targets for the crew.
  • Exhibit urgency and proactive problem-solving when challenges arise.
  • Document daily work hours and track project progress meticulously.
  • Ensure adherence to all deadlines, including projections and schedules.
  • Recognize when to seek assistance to maintain project integrity.

Additional Duties:

  • Coordinate with team members to maintain project timelines and provide updates to the superintendent/project manager.
  • Manage the staging area and oversee the delivery and unloading of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of deliveries for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with engineers and management to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Address safety violations and other project deficiencies promptly.
  • Act as a reliable backup to the project superintendent, ensuring project requirements are met.
  • Coordinate resources effectively to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and manage the construction plan in partnership with the project manager.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Foreman in the construction sector is essential, with a preference for experience in ski lift or mountain construction projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to lead effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality construction practices.
  • Capability to quickly identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, particularly with construction software.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak construction periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in construction within alpine conditions, the ski industry, or material transport.
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate all areas of the construction site in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Comfortable working at heights of up to 80 feet.
  • Ability to climb ladders and traverse uneven terrain in mountainous environments.
