POSITION SUMMARY:
This role involves performing intricate data analysis and research related to financial applications and business operations. Responsibilities include conducting thorough analyses and extensive research on financial data, generating reports, and ensuring data integrity. The position operates under general supervision, allowing for moderate independence and initiative.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts financial data analysis utilizing standard statistical methodologies. This includes examining expenditures, revenues, and other financial metrics as required.
  • Provides assistance to agency personnel by analyzing issues, testing changes in financial processes, and managing user requests across all financial application modules.
Escalates significant financial issues through the appropriate channels and monitors resolution progress. May also assist with user access and security roles as directed.

  • Identifies and resolves issues within financial applications to ensure optimal workflow and functionality.
  • Coordinates the planning and implementation of financial technology security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Participates in the development and execution of enterprise-level financial strategies, including the establishment of processes for maintaining financial technology roadmaps.
  • Develops and deploys queries, identifying errors and production issues as necessary.

Creates and updates queries to extract relevant financial data for routine and ad-hoc reporting.

Prepares detailed financial reports to analyze data, present alternatives, and make informed recommendations regarding data adjustments.



  • Supports external interfaces to financial applications to ensure operational stability. Maintains existing financial environments and conducts necessary testing for system upgrades.
  • Facilitates training for agency staff prior to the rollout of financial applications and processes, including the creation of training materials.
  • Develops and revises system design procedures and quality standards related to financial systems.
  • Regularly attends work and adheres to approved work hours in accordance with agency policies.
  • Participates in meetings as required and performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION:
A degree from an accredited four-year institution in computer science, information systems, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in financial systems or related activities, including two years of functional or technical support in financial applications, is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations relevant to financial operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Flexibility to work after hours or weekends as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office-based position with occasional physical demands such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
