Job Summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team at the San Juan Cancer Center JV in Montrose, Colorado. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation therapy equipment, while also collaborating with radiation oncologists to develop treatment plans that achieve optimal tumor volume coverage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform calibration, maintenance, and quality control testing on radiation oncology equipment to ensure compliance with state, federal, and JCAHO regulations.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists to develop treatment plans, verify prescription calculations, and notify physicians of any discrepancies.
  • Supervise and advise staff on radiation safety, quality control, and environmental and infection control procedures.
  • Provide in-service and continuing education lectures on radiation safety and new techniques or procedures.
  • Generate treatment plans using computer isodose plans or manual calculations, and perform specific dose calculations on individual patients as requested.
Requirements
  • PhD or Master's Degree in Medical Physics or DMP Degree, required.
  • Board eligible by Therapeutic Medical Physics, required.
  • Licensure in the state of practice, as required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Medical Physics, preferred.
