We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation therapy equipment, collaborating with radiation oncologists to develop treatment plans, and supervising staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform calibration, maintenance, and quality control testing on radiation oncology equipment to ensure compliance with state, federal, and JCAHO regulations.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists to develop treatment plans, verify prescription calculations, and notify physicians of any discrepancies.
- Review, revise, and write policies and procedures related to radiation safety, quality control, and environmental and infection control.
- Provide in-service training and continuing education to staff on radiation safety and new techniques or procedures.
- Supervise all aspects of brachytherapy and serve as the facility Radiation Safety Officer.
- PhD or Master's Degree in Medical Physics or DMP Degree required.
- Board eligible by Therapeutic Medical Physics required.
- Licensure in the state of practice required.
- Five years of experience in Medical Physics preferred.
