About the Role:

The Corporate Accountant supports the home office Corporate VP, Accounting to manage home office processes. This role is responsible for performing month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling bank accounts and general ledger accounts, and preparing accurate financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Record journal entries, including intercompany transactions, and perform closing processes.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Lender Reporting: Prepare quarterly lender reporting requirements.
  • Audit Support: Assist with external audits.
  • Ownership Reporting: Prepare monthly and ad-hoc reporting to ownership.
  • Expense Management: Submit wires and check requests to ensure timely payment of corporate expenditures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
  • Ability to identify process inefficiencies and propose solutions.
  • Proficiency in performing variance analysis and explaining budget vs actual variances.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
