We are seeking a Lead Teacher to join our team at The Learning Experience #320. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for infants and toddlers. This role requires a passion for early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

Job Description

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor less experienced teachers in your classroom; model behaviors and provide feedback.
  • Responsible for overall classroom management, leading a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment.
  • Serve as a role model, using a growth mindset to develop young minds and inspire a love of learning.
  • Implement our proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum, working with Infants, Toddlers, and/or Preschool children in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child.
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, sharing their children's latest adventures and achievements through mobile apps and personal discussions.
  • Support your center's success, partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment and engagement.
  • Build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happen seamlessly.
  • Demonstrate competency, good judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities.
  • Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience.
  • Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families, and their cultures.
  • Ensure that no child is abused, neglected, or exploited while in the care of the center; report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation to DFPS as specified in the Texas Family Code, 261.101.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • 2 years of professional teaching experience preferred; at least one year of professional teaching experience required.
  • Associate degree or higher in ECE or related degree preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
  • CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days from hire.
  • Pass background screening.
  • Current record of a tuberculosis examination, showing the employee is free of contagious TB, if required by the Texas Department of State Health Services or local health authority.
  • Complete a notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants for Employment form as specified in Human Resources Code, 42.059.
  • 8 pre-service training hours or proof from exemption.
  • Meet state-specific guidelines for the role.
