POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare meals in accordance with specific dietary requirements, community protocols, and food safety standards, under the guidance of the Food Service Director. Additional tasks may be assigned by community representatives. Adherence to health, sanitation, and infection control policies is essential, as well as maintaining the standards set by the community's administration and Dietary Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices is required. Must comply with state-specific food handler training requirements.
  • Effective communication skills in English, with the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated capability to execute both verbal and written directives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to collaborate with supervisors, colleagues, and community staff in fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Competence in observing proper safety and sanitation techniques.
  • Flexibility to work scheduled hours as per the demands of the position.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in long-term care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
