Job Title: Clinical Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Social Worker to join our team at the Town of Brookline's Health and Human Services Department. The successful candidate will provide mental health and substance use assessments, interventions, and counseling services to youth referred through the schools, juvenile justice system, and other referral sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of clients and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services to address mental health and substance use issues.
  • Collaborate with schools, community agencies, and other stakeholders to provide prevention and education services.
  • Develop and implement prevention programs to reduce substance use among teens.
  • Provide crisis intervention counseling and case management services to clients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records as per agency, county, and state requirements.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work or other counseling degrees required with three to four years of experience in mental health, substance use, adolescent development, and parenting.
  • Must have Social Work (LICSW preferred) or other Professional Counseling License, Massachusetts and/or Substance use Certification LADAC or CADC Massachusetts.

Working Conditions:

The Clinical Social Worker will work in an office or other environmentally controlled room and may be exposed to dangerous and volatile situations. The incumbent must be able to communicate verbally and operate standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this job include extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. The incumbent must be able to communicate verbally and operate standard office equipment.
