System Administrator Job Description

HHM CPAs is seeking a skilled System Administrator to maintain and optimize our IT infrastructure.

This individual will have a strong foundation in IT and possess key traits: self-starting, assertiveness, and resourcefulness.

This position is based in Chattanooga, TN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain local and cloud-based server infrastructure for high availability and reliability.
  • Manage and troubleshoot network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections.
  • Set up and maintain user access.
  • Install, configure, and update server hardware and software, as well as manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Write documentation for user-training and support.
  • Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets related to IT systems, applications, and hardware issues.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to plan and implement system upgrades, patches, and security updates.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure), O365, Exchange, Intune, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Defender, Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows server operating systems.
  • Experience with networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus.
