Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced veterinary technician to join our team. As a veterinary technician at Rayford Animal Wellness Clinic, you will play a vital role in the practice. A well-qualified technician is expected to be proficient in the following skills:

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain thorough patient histories
  • Perform venipuncture procedures, including jugular, cephalic, and lateral/medial saphenous veins
  • Place catheters
  • Perform cystocentesis
  • Have knowledge of vaccines, medications, and medical conditions, such as diabetes, thyroid disease, and pancreatitis
  • Provide animal restraint, including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Operate radiology equipment
  • Take vital signs
  • Perform drug calculations
  • Administer medications and vaccines
  • Provide emergency triage and care
  • Assist in surgery
  • Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and cytology
  • Communicate and educate clients
  • Manage time effectively
  • Maintain accurate medical records, including filling out SOAPs
  • Perform other duties, including cleaning, stocking, and assisting the team as needed
  • Provide friendly and compassionate service to clients and fellow team members through all forms of communication
  • Work as a team player, enjoying being part of a team and contributing to making the clinic a better place for patients, clients, and staff
  • Remain calm, efficient, and professional during medical crises and with upset clients

Work Schedule

We offer a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with the option for a four-day work week at 10 hours per day. Hours are typically 8am-6pm, but may vary. We require flexibility with the schedule.
