Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to provide exceptional patient care and client service in our Emergency & Critical Care Department. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with doctors to address patient care needs, utilizing your knowledge and skills to improve the lives of pets.

Responsibilities
  • Triage and care for stable and critical animals.
  • Obtain patient vitals and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the doctor.
  • Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and conduct laboratory procedures.
  • Provide basic care, including feeding, bathing, and nail trims.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform basic inventory and stocking duties.
  • Administer emergency drugs under DVM guidance and perform CPR.
  • Ensure accurate charge entry for procedures and treatments.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Veterinary technician experience required.
  • Licensure is required.
  • Basic customer service skills and computer skills necessary.
Special Position Requirements

Weekend and holiday shifts are a requirement for this position.

Work Requirements
  • Radiation exposure (x-ray).
  • Hazards associated with infected animals, controlled substances, and possible exposure to contagious diseases.
  • Exposure to unpleasant odors and noises.
  • Exposure to potentially aggressive patients, bites, scratches, and animal wastes.

Experience
  • Emergency medicine: 2 years (Preferred).
  • Veterinary experience: 2 years (Preferred).
