Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate.
  • Administer medications and treatments, as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patient response to therapy.
  • Document patient progress, including medical history, physical examination, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, technologies, and best practices in critical care nursing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of combined experience required in both the Critical Care setting and one other specialty (e.g. Medsurg, Telemetry, IMC or Emergency).
  • 5 years of experience preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS required.
  • RN License in state of employment or compact required.
  • PALS required within 30 days of hire at CHRISTUS Children's Hospital or SPOHN.
