Job Summary:
Moses/Weitzman Health System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in providing top-notch oral health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare office and treatment areas for daily operations, ensuring a clean and organized environment for patients and staff.
- Perform pre- and post-treatment procedures, including setting up and cleaning equipment, to maintain a safe and efficient workflow.
- Assist dentists at chairside, utilizing four-handed techniques to provide exceptional patient care.
- Exhibit knowledge of instruments and techniques used for various procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient treatment.
- Perform independent patient services, including patient triage, radiographs, impressions, suture removal, temporary fillings, recement crowns, and laboratory work, as directed.
- Maintain dental facilities, treatment areas, equipment, and instruments in proper working order, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
- Manage dental supplies inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Strictly follow safety and infection control protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Take high-quality radiographs, processing and mounting them correctly, and comply with radiation safety standards for staff and patients.
- Provide exceptional customer service, focusing on quality of care and teamwork that prioritizes the needs of the department and/or business.
- Participate in Agency-mandated in-service training workshops, including EOC, Working Safely, Abuse, and other required topics.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and business information, adhering to CHC policies and procedures.
- Access patient medical records and encounter data, ensuring confidentiality and maintaining accurate records.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting School or two years of experience in general dentistry
- Certified in Dental Radiology and Infection Control by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB)
- Commitment to preventive dental care
- Knowledge and interest in providing care to diverse patient populations
- Written and oral bilingual fluency in the language spoken by our patient population (e.g., English/Spanish or English/Polish) is strongly preferred
